Maybe the Fed is not to blame for all of the mess, but with their access to information, they had a good idea of what was going on. With such a concentration of wealth in the hands of a few do you really think we would have had a global meltdown? At a minimum the Fed was complicite. The wealthy continue to be wealthy and everyone else seems to be getting poorer, but this is just my humble opinion.

I appreciate your explanation regarding the Bad PR on Foreclosures. We have forgotten that it is simply a contract, if you don't pay the lender has the right to property. Like you said, what if you sold a car and they didn't pay you, it's the same situation. It's just that no one imagined that the economy would change and for us in Florida that the value of the real estate would drop. You brought up an excellent point regarding the investors. Many of us might be those investors and not realize it. We can conitnue to focus on the negative and point fingers or decide to find a solution for our problem.

We have previously discussed who bares the burden of the gap between the current loan value and the new loan value on a loan modification. What I have heard from people is that the loan got extended and amounts added to the end. Technically it is a "modifacation" but I have not heard of anyone who got the loan amount reduced to current values. I still think it's broken and there is no true relief for the borrower. Have I missed some thing, do you know of any one who got the loan amount reduced?

Travis, I like the look of your blog. It is easy to read, and from the posts I read I tend to agree with your comments. It's always easier to like a blog you agree with. I am going to have to look into the share bar widget that you have. That is very nice, and I have not explored putting one in my blogs. The only complaint I have at all is having to create a login to comment. I know that keeps the riff raff out, but I monitor my blogs daily to keep the inappropriate content and spam out. I assume since I have registered I will get updates, so I can keep up with your blog. Good job.

until tort reform, then insurance fees [paid by doctors, hospitals and drug cos.] can be straightened out, there is no way to have national health insurance without inflated run away costs. also every hospital does not need every exotic new machine. we all have to pay for this very expensive equipment that sits idle for most of the day, with each machine's highly trained operator.

I partially agree- the fact is poor planning by all of our recent Presidents- from Clinton to Bush and Obama- have been mostly to blame. The problem is they all seem to focus on allowing or improving short term profitability for big business. Most of the "business" in this country is small business- that should be the focus. I have no problem with any business being profitable- but legislation and other government actions seem to focus on allowing behaviors that ultimately fail in the long term. And throwing money at the economy instead of identifying and addressing critical areas of failure is the wrong way to go at it. And that is how all President's seem to do it!

Bush's policies contributed to this economy and it took 8 years to destroy it. Did you really expect Obama's policies to fix it in a year? Be realistic. At least he is working on it, as opposed to Bush who didn't seem to notice it was even happening. It seems most Americans didn't notice it was happening until it happened.
